Our chemical spill containment pallets are constructed of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and feature Eagle's patented removable black HDPE grating for easier cleaning.

All Eagle drum storage spill containment pallets feature high-performance engineered plastic construction for excellent chemical resistance and impact durability for long life. Our tote spill containment pallets are also UV protected and feature removable flat top grating. The spill containment pallets easily connect with built-in U-channel, and most models available with and without a drain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a spill containment pallet?

Spill containment pallets are designed for storing 55-gallon drums and other containers of oils, fuels and hazardous chemicals in the workplace. Built-in sumps contain any leaks, drips or spills from leaching into the environment. Most drum spill containment pallets are constructed of plastic or metal and feature removable grating for easy cleaning. Many also include forklift pockets to make them easy to move when stacked.

What is a spill pallet used for?

Spill pallets are rigid secondary spill containment systems designed to store drums and other containers of hazardous chemicals, oils and fuels. Spill containment pallets feature built-in containment sumps to prevent any spillage from leaking out and contaminating the immediate vicinity.

How do you clean up a pallet spill?

Sometimes drums and containers of hazardous liquids leak, but spill containment pallets provide a back-up containment option when this occurs. Use a spill kit to clean up spills within the sump of the spill pallet. Most drum spill containment pallets feature removable grating to make it easier to clean up spills. After the spilled liquids are removed and disposed of properly, clean the pallet with water and a cleaning detergent.

Is secondary containment required for 55-gallon drums?

According to federal SPCC requirements, all 55-gallon or larger drums of hazardous materials stored indoors must have secondary containment. The guidelines state containment systems must have a sufficient capacity to contain 10 percent of the volume of the containers or the volume of the largest container, whichever is greater. Eagle spill containment pallets meet this criteria.
